Hey what's up. You guys it's Sophia and today. I wanted to make a video talking about internships and some of you guys might know. I had my first internship last summer and I have. Another internship. This summer in New York City and I get loads of questions. All the time about kind of internship opportunities through NYU. How to get an internship resume applying interviews. Everything like. How to go about finding them so. I thought I would make a video. All about that to help. Some of you guys out.
I like making these sort of advice videos. You guys always seem to give really positive feedback on them so. If you're looking for an internship or might be looking for one in the future. That this helps. You out so let's get started so. I just have kind of a list here on my phone. I thought I would start with. How to apply for internships and there's kind of a number of ways to do. You are in college which is kind of the time. That most people get internships. If you're in high school honestly. I wouldn't bother looking for internships. Because they're not going to want. If you're not in college but uh the number. One way I feel like to get started. You don't know.
Where to start is with your colleges career services center. I feel like every college has. One of these I'm pretty sure like every school has. Some version of this be. It online or in person nyu has. Both online and in person it's called the wasserman's Center. You can probably look up the Wasserman centers website but I don't know how much of it you can access without an NYU ID so basically the wassman Center has a career portal and y-you career. That you can log on into. That it will have your resume and you can also import cover letters into. It and it has. All of your basic contact information GPA things like. That and basically. It has thousands of jobs listed. You can sort of specify the search function is not good on it but you can specify like.
You know what kind of internship. You want part-time full-time location maybe like. What field you're in or major or something like. That you can kind of narrow. It down and find some internships I've applied to dozens of internships through there I've got loads of interviews from. It and my current internship. I think I found through career net so. I highly recommend using your school's career services. They usually work pretty well and are great. If you're like just starting out and don't know. Where to look the second place.
I would recommend looking is LinkedIn. I love using linkedin to find internships. Because usually companies will list internships on linkedin. You can just go to like the jobs and then. You can specify internships and then it'll take. You directly to the company's website to apply and a lot of companies like larger companies will have. You applied to internships directly through their website.
