I kind of copied my brother's format for this one but basically. What I do is I'll put again like my name and information at the top then I'll put like the name in the address of the company in the top left hand corner and then I'll write. Either to whom it may concern or I'll address a person. Because sometimes.
They say to address a specific person I'll usually start with. You I'm interested in applying for this position for the summer and yeah then I'll put my education um I'll usually say like. I am majoring in this in steinhardt and I mind hearing this and stirred and then I'll put two examples. That make me good for that job so depending on what it is I might list my experience working at nyu's newspaper and my last internship or I might put my youtube experience and something I did in high school.
It kind of depends. What it is butI'll write outI'll describe. What I did for two paragraphs. That make me good for that job and then I'll end. It just saying thank you so much for the opportunity. I look forward to hearing from. You yadda yadda yadda wrapping it up yeah and then. You say sincerely your name and it's. Both of these things should not be longer. Than a page ever never make. Either of them longer. Than a page and save them as pdfs that's always a good idea so the next step is hopefully getting an interview and I would say don't get discouraged. Because you'll probably only get a little percentage of interviews like based off of everything you applied for so like.
You applied for like 50 internships. You might get ten interviews. Something like. That is usually standard especially. You might not hear back from larger companies. They tend to not. Even tell if they don't want an interview. They just like won't. Even answer so definitely expect. That and then. I was in Prague obviously for this summer did. All phone interviews and you can also set up skype interviews a lot of the time or if. You are based in the city. That you want to work in you can go in for an in-person interview and sometimes.
You might have a couple of rounds like. I think for my last one I had a phone interview and then an in-person interview and then. Another phone interview with the head of the company so. It was kind of different steps and that's pretty normal. I would say usually have at least three questions prepared they'll always ask. You throughout an interview. You have any questions and they'll always ask. You at the end. You have any more questions so definitely always have questions never say no. Because that's like a really bad thing so I'll usually ask kind of like I'll ask who I'm going to be working with I'll ask. What a typical day looks likeI'll ask.
What my interviewers favorite part of working at that company is um maybeI'll ask kind of like things. That you know my general responsibilities. Anything kind of like. That that you might obviously want to know before choosing to work at that company so. It definitely have a set of questions prepared and also be prepared for I would say two different types of things. That they might ask. I would say. One would be scenario questions which are personally my least favorite question to answer and a lot of places don't. Even do these these are the kinds of questions.
