I my original resume actually just based off of my older brothers and it was really basic looking I feel like it's kind of the resume. That a lot of like business kids use. He was a business student and it was just like super basic says your name and address and email and phone number at the top and then. It is divided by education extracurriculars like work experience.
I think that's probably. It and it was really basic. It would just have the years. That you worked in. Each place and have a little bit of a description under. Each thing my current resume looks a little bit. More I would say creative. If you're in a creative field. I recommend kind of googling like creative resume templates um. I know like BuzzFeed will often do list of like. These are some really creative resumes and you can kind of get inspired by those things and what my in basic looks like. Now I'm not going to put.
It in because. It has like my contact info and like things like. That which I feel like not gonna put in but mine basically right now has a purple bar at the top. It says my name and all of my contact info and then it's separated into two columns and on the left is my education so Kyle it's in order of like. Most recent so college. Than high school work activity again. Most recent 24. This way my social media which I have. I don't know. You guys have ever seen like little social media icons. That you can find online. I found like. Some watercolor pretty purpley blue ones and I have. All of those icons and then.
What my social-media handles are. Because a lot of the jobs. I applied you are in social media or just communications and stuff and that's information. That they would want to know about me and then on the right side is all been extracurriculars from college in high school so it's a little bit. More creative looking down a little bit. More colorful and kind of just a bit. More eye-catching than. It used to be and I really really like the form. That I have. Now it's a pretty good mix of basic and creative. I think so I definitely think it's good to incorporate maybe a little bit of color a little bit of something that your personality and also specify for what field you're in so.
I put social media. Somebody who maybe is in I don't know coding somebody just coding you might want to put in that section. What types of applications you're used to what coding languages. You can write in you know skill sets like. You can use. I don't know like other computer applications specify. It to fit you and but those are definitely. All the categories. That you should have in your resume again list kind of the main points about.
Each thing that you list like. You were in a club in school like. I was in deca so under deck. That I would put the years and then. I would put president. This year to this year vice president. This year to this year. Whatever won. This award and that's all I would put for that and then. You know swim team. You would put captain of swim team.
This year lead practices and organized blah blah and you kind of put like. What you did at. Each thing you know like. I lifeguarded so. I put lifeguard in charge of guarding the pool teaching swimming lessons and also testing the pH levels and chlorine levels and using chemicals and whatever so. You put a couple of bullet points under. Each one or your cover letter again.
